New Massachusetts Waste Ban

Effective 7/1/2006
  • Wood
  • Concrete
  • Asphalt Paving
  • Metal
We are now diverting this waste from landfills.

Per the Massachusetts D.E.P., this new regulation prohibits the disposal, or transfer for disposal of Wood, Metal, Concrete and Asphalt Paving materials in loads that are more than five cubic yards.

EXCEPTION: any load over five cubic yards is allowed any combination of these four waste ban materials up to 20% of the load volume.

EXAMPLE: A 30 cubic yard dumpster containing no more than 6 cubic yards in total of wood, metal, asphalt paving and concrete would be accepted for disposal (provided that the remaining 24 cubic yards of space in the dumpster is filled with otherwise acceptable non-hazardous solid waste).
